Course Description: Our professional staff provides Instructor-led training through the four modules and provides one on one support as each student progresses through the GreenSmart program.  Each participant is provided training so they can become job ready.  Our staff learns about each participant's skill sets and individual needs and wants, and then works together with the participant on matching them with an employer for JOB PLACEMENT.

This program will prepare participants to gain valuable informatin and knowledge in the water and wastewater industry. The programs satisfy the educational requirements for taking the entry level certification exams required by the state and other certifying agencies for Water and Liquid Waste Treatment Plant and System Operators, Drinking Water Treatment and Distribution Operators, and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators.  Instructions will be provided by experts who currently work in or are retired from the water industry. Training materials include up-to-date texts developed at CSU Sacramento as well as industry publications and updates. Special topics, guest speakers, and field trips round out the educational package.

2b. Water Technology Training Program = 160 Hours

  • Introduction to Water - importance of water, sources of water, what do water and wastewater plants do?, preparing yourself for the future, certifications
  • Basic Water Distribution Program - learn about processes and facilities to operate a water distribution system
  • Introduction to Water/Wastewater Operations - comprehensive training on the knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain wastewater systems
  • Water Treatment Plant Operations 1 - gain knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain a water treatment operation
  • Basic Math for Treatment Plant Operators - focuses on developing and enhancing the mathematical skills required to effectively operate and maintain a water treatment facility
